That is a good question. Too often on a home inspection are the CO detectors found in places like closets, on top of furniture, in attics, and even in the drawer.
A CO detector is an important safety device, and one that needs careful placement if it is to protect you and your family in an emergency.
So where do they go? In best case scenario in the bedrooms, stairwells, at least one on each level of the home, and about 10 – 15 ft away from sources of CO (like heating units).
